Pros and Cons of Social networking site
The usage of social media is nearly universal among today’s teenagers. Students use at least one of the major social networking platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter. It is the most important platform for people to communicate with others. Social networking site has its advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages of social media sites
The first advantage is, you can communicate with people worldwide. You can make connections with people you know and people who share the same interests from all over the world. You also can keep in touch with your old friends which stay in far away.
Secondly, you can catch up with the news at any time. Many news organisations are on social networking sites and it has become a great source of information. It is a great opportunities to access to different kind of information.
Disadvantages of social media sites
Social media can be a good thing but people will waste a lot of time on social networks without doing anything useful. A lot of student addicted to social networks and neglect on academic achievement.
Besides that, users are exposed to cyberbullying. Bullying through the use of technology can causes physical or emotional harm to the student. People can mock your photos and express hatred. Teenagers, especially, will have higher risks of cyberbullying.
Sadly, social media can take a toll on young minds. The suicide rates among young people have grown over the last decades. A lot of research said that social media is the leading causes of suicide because they have been bullied while online.
In Conclusion
Personally, I believe that social networking sites are useful if we use them wisely. Thus, I would recommend it to others.
